Our volunteer crew were tasked by UK Coastguard following a report of two surfers caught in the rip current and swept around the point at Rest Bay. Both our Atlantic 85 and D Class lifeboats were tasked by UK Coastguard whilst out on training exercise to assist a yacht which had made a Pan Pan call after suffering engine difficulties in Sandy Bay. The yacht was taken under tow and into Porthcawl Marina. Both lifeboats assisted the yacht through the marina gate

The D Class lifeboat was launched to a multi agency incident at Ogmore By Sea following a tasking request by UK Coastguard.

Atlantic 85 launched to a broken down vessel off Nash Point. The lifeboat stood by to ensure the casualty vessel wasn’t dragging anchor and require further assistance until our colleagues from Barry Dock RNLI arrived on scene. Casualty vessel was towed back to Barry.
