Whilst the crew were returning from an earlier callout they were tasked to a further incident at Newton Beach by UK Coastguard. A lady had swam after her dog which was swimming out to sea. Our volunteers were paged by UK Coastguard and launched our D Class lifeboat to assist a broken down jet ski approximately 200m offshore at Newton Beach. The jet ski had broken down with two people onboard. It was towed back to the slipway at Porthcawl Pier.

Waves were starting to break over the rock and the boys predicament was time critical as there was still two hours to go until high tide.
