Our volunteer crew were tasked by UK Coastguard to a yacht aground at Llantwit Major Beach. Both lifeboats attended and provided assistance to those onboard the yacht. The yacht was refloated by towing it clear of the shore on the incoming tide. Our colleagues from Llantwit Major Coastguard also attended to assist with the incident.
Both lifeboats were tasked by UK Coastguard to conduct a search off the seafront following a report of an object in the water. The lifeboats searched the area and noted several logs, branches and a porpoise. With nothing further of concern noted the lifeboats were stood down and returned to their training exercises.
