Both inshore lifeboats launched at the request of UK Coastguard to 2 people cut off by the tide near Nash Point.

The Atlantic 85 was first on scene and established that due to the location of the casualties, who were part way up the cliff face, the safest method of extraction would be by the coastguard rescue helicopter 187 based at St Athan.

The lifeboats provided safety cover whilst awaiting the rescue helicopter and during the winching operation. The casualties were winched to the cliff top and met my Llantwit Major Coastguard team.
