Our volunteers were paged by UK Coastguard to rescue a person in the water off Newton Point. The casualty had been swept by the current around the point from Trecco Bay and was being assisted by two of our colleagues from RNLI Lifeguards South East Wales. The casualty was brought onboard the lifeboat and checked over by the crew. Upon returning to the lifeboat station the casualty was given a further check over by a Welsh Ambulance Paramedic to ensure no further medical attention was required following his ordeal.

If visiting the beach this summer choose one with lifeguards and visit during lifeguarded hours. Always swim between the red and yellow flags and #RespectTheWater
