Our Atlantic 85 was launched to a small fishing boat which had broken down near to Nash Point. Once on scene the crew managed to restart the engine. The boat was escorted back to Port Talbot from where it was launched. On the approach to Port Talbot the boat broke down again and was taken under tow by the lifeboat into the river Afan. Due to the tide it was not possible to return the boat to its mooring at that time so the boat was left moored in a safe location. Port Talbot lifeboat later assisted the vessel back to its mooring (when the tide had come in sufficiently) after attending a memorial event at Sker Point for the Samtampa and Mumbles lifeboat which were lost 70 years to the day.
