Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard after St Donat’s NCI raised concerns for a yacht anchored close to rocks at Llanwit Major beach.

With an incoming tide it was at risk of being swept aground onto rocks. The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched on service to provide safety advice. The yacht decided to passage to Barry and was escorted by Porthcawl lifeboat until the arrival on scene of Barry Dock lifeboat who took over.
