Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard and requested to launch to assist a wingsurfer off the seafront.
The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires was launched on service and made best speed to the location. The crew located the wingsurfer off Hutchwns Point. The casualty was struggling to get back to their launch site due to the prevailing conditions.
The wingsurfer was taken onboard the lifeboat and returned back to shore at Newton Beach.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
