Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard to assist five people and four dogs cut off by the tide at Ogmore Rivermouth. One of the people had attempted to wade across but had turned back following safety advice from our RNLI lifeguard colleagues at Ogmore.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service and made best speed to the location taking the five people and four dogs onboard the lifeboat and dropping them back onto the Ogmore side of the river.
If you need help or spot anyone else in difficulty at the coast, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
