Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard following a report that two people on paddleboards were in difficulty off Box Bay (at Rest Bay).

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service. Once on scene it was established that the paddleboarders required no assistance, the call being a false alarm with good intent. The crew were stood down and returned to station.
