UK Coastguard requested the launch of the charity’s relief D Class lifeboat Super G II following a report a small inflatable boat with two people onboard had suffered engine difficulties off Rhych Point. The lifeboat was requested to launch in order to assess the situation and arrived on scene to find the vessel at anchor whilst the casualties attempted to restart their outboard engine.

The helm made the decision that undertaking a tow was necessary and the safest way to assist the casualties. The vessel was taken under tow to the beach at Sandy Bay (Coney Beach).
