UK Coastguard requested the launch of the charity’s D Class lifeboat Super G II following a report a stand up paddleboarder was in difficulty around 400m from the shore off Trecco Bay and drifting towards Newton Point.

The crew made best speed to the location in strong winds and moderate seas and swiftly located the casualty in the water clinging to their board. The casualty and their equipment were recovered onto the lifeboat and taken ashore at the harbour slipway.
