Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard following a report that two people on a paddle board were in difficulty just off Ogmore river.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires was launched on service and arrived on scene within 5 minutes. On arrival the crew discovered that there were 6 paddle boards with 9 casualties in difficulty being blown out to sea. The lifeboat recovered all the paddleboards & casualties and returned them to the safety of Ogmore beach.
