UK Coastguard tasked Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew to assist Llantwit Major coastguard team with a climber who had fallen from the cliff near Ogmore and sustained multiple injuries.
The coastguard rescue helicopter also attended the incident and winched the casualty and transported them to hospital.
A second climber recovered himself back up the cliff with members of Llantwit Major coastguard’s rope rescue team. The second climber was checked over by Llantwit Major Coastguard’s team paramedic and was fit and well but understandably shaken.
The climbers had been able to give an accurate location using the what3words app.
We wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery.
