Porthcawl RNLI volunteers were paged at 12.39 today (Tuesday 5 September) following a report that swimmers were in difficulty at Sandy Bay (Coney Beach). The charity’s relief D Class lifeboat ‘Peggy D’ was launched and the crew conducted a search with no one found to be in difficulty. The crew were then retasked by HM Coastguard to a further incident to assist a wing surfer (launch 50/2023) who was in difficulty to the south of Porthcawl Breakwater.
