UK Coastguard requested the launch of our relief Atlantic 85 lifeboat Irene Cornford following a report a 10 year old child had got into difficulty at the Ogmore river mouth.

The lifeboat proceeded at best speed to the location in calm seas arriving on scene to find a father and son in the water who had both gone to the aid of the child. The child had been assisted from the water by another member of the public and the father and son were both taken onboard the lifeboat and dropped ashore at Ogmore.
