UK Coastguard requested the launch of Porthcawl’s relief D Class lifeboat Super G II following a report a stand up paddleboarder had got into difficulty off Newton Point and was being assisted by a paddleboarder. Conditions were calm, sunny with a very light breeze.

The D Class arrived on scene and took the paddleboarder and his equipment onboard and returned the casualty back to the beach at Newton.
