UK Coastguard tasked Porthcawl’s volunteer RNLI crew following a report of a person in difficulty in the cove area at Rest Bay. The charity’s D Class lifeboat Super G II was launched on service in calm sees and made best speed to the location. The casualty had become trapped by the incoming tide and unable to climb up from a small gulley. The casualty was taken onboard the lifeboat, checked over to see if any further medical attention was required and then taken back to the lifeboat station to be dropped ashore.
