Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard following a report the Coastguard had received from Porthcawl NCI.

NCI watchkeepers were monitoring their Ogmore by Sea remote camera when they saw an adult and child attempting to cross at the Ogmore river mouth. As the pair reached waist depth the child got swept away by the current. The adult managed to get hold of the child get ashore to safety at Ogmore beach shortly before the lifeboat arrived on scene.

Once it was confirmed that both were safe and well the lifeboat was stood down and returned to the lifeboat station to be made ready for service.
