Porthcawl’s volunteer RNLI crew were tasked by UK Coastguard following a possible sighting of Ollie the springer spaniel by Stand Up Paddleboarders and a kayaker at the base of cliffs in Southerndown. The volunteer crew made best speed to the area and were able to locate Ollie and took him onboard the lifeboat. Ollie seemed perfectly happy following his ordeal having spent several hours at sea this morning and enjoyed his boat ride back to Porthcawl.
If your dog does get into trouble in the water call it from a safe area where it can get out. Never go in after your dog, please dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
