UK Coastguard tasked Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew following a report a fisherman had fallen into the water from rocks in the cove area of Rest Bay (between Rest Bay Point and Hutchwns Point).
Both the charity’s D Class Hugo Missen and Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires were launched on service but were stood down by the Coastguard shortly after launching after they received an update that the casualty was ashore and required no further assistance.
Both lifeboats returned to station where they were rehoused and made ready for service.
