Whilst returning from an earlier launch to Dunraven Bay, UK Coastguard gave a further tasking to the crew of our D Class Hugo Missen. The coastguard had received a report from Porthcawl NCI of a number of people attempting to cross the Ogmore river at the river mouth. When the crew arrived on scene they were met by a group of 19 people and 1 dog on the Porthcawl side of the river. The crew transferred the group and the dog across the river in order to prevent them entering the river and putting themselves in danger. They were met by the team from Llantwit Major Coastguard on the Ogmore side of the river and given safety advice.
