Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard following a report that 3 boys were being swept out to sea by the current at the Ogmore river mouth.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service and made best speed to the location. The crew arrived on scene to find the boys had made it back to shore on the Newton side of the river accompanied by a parent. A crew member went ashore to check no further medical attention was required. Once confirmed all were well the crew were stood down from the incident and returned to station.

In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
