The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched on service following a report of a Stand Up Paddleboarder struggling in the rip current at the point in Rest Bay. Our colleagues at Porthcawl Coastguard were also tasked to the incident and as we were arriving on scene they established that the casualty had managed to make it ashore and made it back to the main bay. We stood by for a short period to ensure no further persons were caught out by the current before returning to station.
