UK coastguard tasked our volunteer crew after concerns were raised for a female seen entering the water at Temple Bay, Southerndown.
The charity’s relief Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Irene Cornford was launched on service with three crew onboard. The coastguard helicopter from St Athan and Llantwit Major coastguard team were also tasked to investigate.
Llantwit Major coastguard team managed to track down the first informant and ID the potential casualty. Thankfully the lady was in no danger and was safe and well.
The informant did the correct thing by dialing 999 and asking for the Coastguard. Thankfully on this occasion it was a false alarm with good intent.
