Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard to assess the situation involving a vessel in difficulties off Sker Point.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 ‘Rose of the Shires’ was launched on service. Once the lifeboat arrived on scene the helm assessed the situation. The helm made the decision that taking the vessel under tow to Porthcawl marina was the best way to assist the casualty where the crew were met by Porthcawl Coastguard and Port Talbot Coastguard.
