A launch request came as the crew washed and disinfected the lifeboats and equipment following the previous call.

The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched on service to a report that a RIB had become fouled on a marker buoy attached to fishing equipment off Newton Point. The sunlight had made it difficult to spot the marker buoy causing the RIB to get its propellor caught in the rope. The RIB was being dragged by the tide and was taking on water. The 3 casualties from the RIB were taken onboard the lifeboat whilst two crew members went onboard the RIB in order to free it from the fishing equipment. Once freed the water drained from the RIB as our crew members drove it back to Porthcawl whilst being escorted by the lifeboat.
