Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard to locate and assist a 13 year girl who had fallen and broken her leg at Witches Point.
The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires was launched on service and made best speed to the location. Once on scene the crew located the casualty on the northern side of Witches Point. Crew went ashore and assisted coastguard teams with providing casualty care for the casualty.
Due to the location being hard to reach a Coastguard helicopter was tasked to the incident. The casualty was winched from their location and dropped off on the clifftops for onward transportation to hospital.
The lifeboat was then stood down from the incident and returned to station.
