Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were on exercise onboard the charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires when tasked by HM Coastguard to a child that was refusing to leave the water at Newton Beach by her parents.

The Atlantic 85 arrived to find the parents unable to control a 10 year old girl. The girl left the water, but as soon as the Atlantic 85 left the scene the girl re-entered the water. The Atlantic 85 returned to the beach and stayed there until the family had left the beach.

In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
