Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard whilst returning from their earlier service call to Ogmore rivermouth. The crew were tasked to assist 3 people reported to be in difficulty and being swept around the point with a paddleboard at Rest Bay.
The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires made best speed to the location. Once on scene they were unable to locate any people in difficulty. They did however spot some people who were ashore and after speaking with some other water users it was established the people who were ashore were those thought to have been in difficulty.
The lifeboat was then stood down from the incident and returned to station.
