Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard to investigate a surfer who was reported to be in difficulty between the breakwater and Sandy Bay.

The charity’s D Class lifeboat Peggy D was launched on service and conducted a search of the area along with Porthcawl Coastguard rescue team. The crew or Coastguard team found no surfers to be in difficulty in the area.

The lifeboat was stood down from the incident and returned to station where the lifeboat was made ready for service.
