Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were returning from a service launch to Southerndown onboard the charity’s D Class lifeboat Hugo Missen when they were flagged down by a group of 3 kayakers who were struggling against the tide off Ogmore. They had originally set out from Porthcawl.
The 3 kayakers were taken onboard the lifeboat and their kayaks were taken under tow. They were returned back to the slipway at the harbour. The lifeboat was then recovered and made ready for service.
