Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard following a report that 5 people were cut off by tide near St Donat’s. The area was searched by Llantwit Major coastguard rescue team and Porthcawl RNLI’s crew onboard the charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat with nothing found. The casualties were believed to have self rescued.
The charity’s D Class lifeboat was stood down before it arrived on scene and both lifeboats returned to station where they were made ready for service.

In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
