UK Coastguard tasked Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew to assess the situation with a speedboat reported to have suffered engine failure to the south of Rhych Point.
The vessel with two people onboard had requested assistance after experiencing engine failure and had dropped their anchor but this was dragging.
The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service. Once the crew arrived on scene the helm assessed the situation and made the decision the best way to assist the casualty vessel was to take it under tow and in to Porthcawl Marina.
