Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard following reports of a paddleboard (SUP) a fair distance from the shore off Hardy’s Bay, Ogmore by Sea in fading light.
The charity’s Atlantic 85, Rose of the Shires was launched on service and conducted a search of the area along with Llantwit Major Coastguard team.
After a thorough search of the area nothing untoward was sighted and the crew were stood down from the incident, the call being a false alarm with good intent.
If you spot something of concern or get into difficulty on the coast dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
