Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard following a report of a person in the water in difficulty at Sandy bay (Coney Beach).
Both the charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires and D Class Hugo Missen were launched on service.
The person was safely located on the shore and taken into the care of Porthcawl Coastguard Team and South Wales Police. With no further assistance required from the lifeboat crews, the lifeboats were stood down and returned to station.
