Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard and launched the charity’s D Class Hugo Missen on service for the first time in 2026.
A fisherman had fallen from rocks into the water at a Rhych Point. When the crew arrived on scene they found the fisherman had self recovered back onto the shore and the crew assessed the casualty.
An ambulance and Porthcawl Coastguard team arrived at the incident shortly afterwards and he was checked over by an ambulance paramedic.
