The Atlantic 85 was launched on service, being tasked by UK Coastguard to conduct an expanding square search to the south of Porthcawl.

The lifeboat conducted a thorough search of the area and found no evidence of anyone in trouble. At this point we were stood down as UK Coastguard had made further enquiries and were happy there was no one in difficulty. The lifeboat returned to station and was made ready for service.
