Porthcawl RNLI’s Deputy Launch Authority, Stephen Jones was honoured to be amongst RNLI crew from across the UK and Ireland at the Cenotaph in London to mark #ArmisticeDay100

Stephen represented the RNLI alongside colleagues from Sligo Bay, Shoreham, Happisburgh, Wick and Torbay. Stephen was delighted to have the opportunity to attend the Cenotaph on the occasion of 100 years since the end of the great war to remember all those who were lost #LestWeForget

RNLI lifeboat volunteers were active during the First World War (1914-1918) with lifeboats launching 1,808 times and saving 5,332 lives. With the majority of men being called away to join the war efforts, the average age of lifeboat crew members increased to over 50.
