Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard to assist a female paddleboarder in difficulty off Ogmore by Sea. The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires was launched on service and arrived on scene within 5 minutes of launching. When the crew arrived on scene they discovered that there was 8 paddleboards & 12 casualties in difficulty, all being blown out to sea. The helm requested the assistance of the charity’s D class.
The Atlantic 85 recovered 7 paddleboards & 9 casualties returning them all to the safety of Ogmore beach. When the D Class arrived on scene it recovered a further 3 casualties.
