Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard following a 999 call from two people who were cut off by the tide and trapped on a ledge at Southerndown.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires was launched on service and made best speed to the location. Once on scene the crew recovered the casualties from the ledge onto the lifeboat and then dropped them ashore onto the slipway at Southerndown.

📞 In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
