Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard following a report that 5 paddle boarders were in difficulty at Dunraven Bay, Southerndown.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service and made best speed to the location. Once on scene a thorough search of the area was conducted alongside Llantwit Major and Porthcawl Coastguard teams with nothing untoward found.

The crew were stood down with the call being a false alarm with good intent.
