Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard to assist two swimmers reported to be in difficulty near Porthcawl breakwater.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched and made good speed to the swimmers. Once on scene it located the swimmers, both of whom were open water swimmers and in no danger. The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
