Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard following a report raising concern for two paddleboarders seen leaving Rest Bay, some distance from the shore.
The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires was launched on service and located the paddlers near Fairy Buoy and the paddlers confirmed that they had set out from Rest Bay. Both paddlers were competent and intending to paddle back to Rest Bay. With no further assistance required the crew were stood down from the incident and returned to station.
