Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard to investigate a report of a broken down boat in Newton Bay.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service and made best speed to the location. Once on scene it was established that the boat owner was waiting for a friend to arrive at Newton slipway with some fuel. The crew helped transport the fuel from the shore to the vessel which was then able to return to the marina without any further assistance required.
