Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard to locate and assist two people on a paddleboard who were waving for help some distance off Hardy’s Bay, Ogmore by Sea following a 999 call.
The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service and the crew were conned on to the location of the paddleboarders by the lifeboat station who had the paddleboarders visual through the station’s spotting scope. The paddleboarders were taken onboard and dropped back to the beach at Ogmore by Sea.
If you need help or spot anyone else in difficulty at the coast, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
