Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard whilst returning from training exercise to investigate a wing foil surfer who was reported to be in possible difficulty close to Newton Point.

Once on scene the crew located the wing foiler who accepted the offer for assistance and was taken onboard the charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires along with their equipment. They were then dropped ashore at Newton beach.
If you need help or spot anyone else in difficulty at the coast, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
