Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard to assist with a multi-agency search at Rest Bay.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service and conducted a search of the area. The lifeboat was stood down from the incident after around an hour when it was confirmed the search had been initiated as a result of a false alarm with good intent.
