Our volunteer crew launched Porthcawl’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat to conduct a search between Nash Point and Summerhouse Point following a MAYDAY call. Barry Dock RNLI, Llantwit Major Coastguard and the UK Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 187 were all also tasked to conduct their own searches.

All units conducted a thorough search of the area for over two hours. At this point our crew, onboard the Atlantic 85 lifeboat were stood down by UK Coastguard who were happy we’d thoroughly saturated our search area. The crew arrived back at our lifeboat station around midnight.

If anyone has any further information regarding this Mayday call please contact UK Coastguard.
