Our crew onboard the Atlantic 85 lifeboat were diverted from their training exercise yesterday evening and tasked by UK Coastguard to conduct a search of the area between Sker Point and the long arm at Port Talbot Deep Water Harbour. A member of the public had reported seeing a paraglider which was possibly in distress and unaccounted for in the area of Kenfig Sands / Dunes. Police, the Police helicopter and Porthcawl Coastguard team also attended the incident. After a search of approximately 20 minutes the first informant confirmed to the Police that the paraglider had been located and was safe and well. All units were stood down and we returned to station.
